SalmoRiver, Lake Ontario, Oak Orchard, Oswego River, Oneida Lake, Fishing Report 10/12/09n
We made it through another Columbus Day weekend. With water in all the area streams and the river at a level that makes it difficult to see the fish, it really was not that crowded, considering it was the biggest weekend of the year.
Plenty of fish on the gravel, some still moving, more trout coming in each day.
We don’t kill them everyday, but wherever you fish, you will have at least a few in front of you.
Fall is here and the forecast calls for more below normal temps for this week. (More global warming I guess).
It has been a really good month so far and it will only get better as we start targeting more trout as the month goes on.
The Oak Orchard is fishing well with a nice mix of trout and salmon and a pretty good flow for this time of year.
The Oswego River is dropping and you will find plenty of fish to play with at the dam.
I had a great report that the walleye fishing on Oneida was really, really good. I could not get details as the location is a secret, but they are biting so don’t be afraid to visit your favorite spot.
Salmon are hitting skein, plugs, small estaz flies and single eggs. Trout have hitting egg sacs in pink and blue and any good egg imitation fly.

We worked hard foe them over the weeeknd but former LOO cover personalities Brian Mulkeen and his youngest son Eric manged a few.
My new Pavati boat is on the river.I t is a real eye catcher and the clients love it.
