ONEIDA LAKE BASSEYE CHALLENGE –
ONEIDA LAKE BASSEYE CHALLENGE – TO BENEFIT THE CYSTIC FIBROSIS FOUNDATION
Features Captain’s Reception & Day of Fishing
(SYRACUSE; March 18, 2008) The Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation today announced the first Club over looking Oneida Lake on June 25th from 5:30 until 9:00pm. Guestsannual Oneida Lake BassEye Challenge is scheduled for June 25th & 26th, 2008. Money raised during the tournament will be used for medical research, educational programs and support of the foundation’s care center network. At present, sponsors of the Oneida Lake BassEye Challenge include Redbone @ Large Celebrity Tournament Series, Pepsi Bottling - Syracuse, Bass Pro Shops, and Toyota. The event kicks off with a Captain’s Reception at Lakeshore Country , anglers and guides will be treated to a dinner and the opportunity to bid on exciting fishing trips and other getaways during the silent and live auctions. The teams entered in the tournament will meet their guides during the reception. Bright and early on June 26th, teams will depart Oneida Shores Country Park at 6:30am for a day of fishing for either Bass or Walleye. Veteran fisherman from throughout the Oneida Lake area and elsewhere have volunteered their boats and time to take the teams out to find their “secret” fishing spots in search of the big fish. A defective gene causes the body to produce abnormally thick, sticky mucus that leads to chronic and life-threatening lung-infections and impairs digestion. When the CF Foundation was created in 1955, few children lived to attend elementary school. Today, because of research and care supported by the CF Foundation with money raised through donations from individuals, corporations and foundations, a person with cystic fibrosis is expected to survive into their mid-thirties.
