ONEIDA LAKE BASSEYE CHALLENGE

ONEIDA LAKE BASSEYE CHALLENGE

If you Like to Fish, This is One Fundraiser You’ll Love!

(SYRACUSE; March 18, 2008) The Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation today announced the format and pricing for the first annual Oneida Lake BassEye Challenge, presented by P&C Foods. The event is scheduled for June 25th & 26th, 2008.

Boats donated and skippered by experienced Oneida Lake fishermen will be ‘filled’ with teams of two anglers according to Central New York chapter executive director David Compton. "Not only have these volunteer fishermen donated their boats, but their time and experience as well," said Compton. Teams have their choice to fish for bass or walleye. The teams will be paired with a fisherman who will take them out on to the lake to fish for the species they select.

Compton equates the pricing for boats to that of foursomes for a golf tournament. "Our golf tournament at Turning Stone Resort has a standard foursome and the pricing goes up from there," says Compton. "The fishing tournament is very similar, with a basic angler boat starting off at $850. That includes tickets to the Captain’s Reception the night before the tournament, a goodie bag, plus breakfast and lunch on the day of fishing." Angler teams can upgrade to a Corporate Boat for $1,500 and higher level sponsorships as well.

"90¢ of every dollar we raise during this fishing tournament will be used to fund research, education and care programs," said Compton.

At the Captain’s Reception at Lakeshore Country Club on June 25th guests, anglers and skippers will be treated to dinner and the opportunity to bid on exciting fishing trips and other getaways during the night. Music will be provided by ALIAS. The teams entered in the tournament will be introduced to their skippers during the reception. Teams will depart Oneida Shores Country Park the following morning at 6:30am on for a day of fishing.
