RWS’ RAP-X Bullets Achieve Deep Penetration – Even with Bone Hits!

Knowledgeable hunters of big game rely on the impressive penetration characteristics of RWS’ RAP-X® bullet to help bag their quarry — now available in the RWS .300 WSM cartridge with a 184-grain RAP-X high performance bullet.

The advantages the RWS RAP-X bullet provides the wise hunters who use it become readily apparent with shots hitting bone, especially in heavier game. The RWS RAP-X tip begins to deform upon penetration of the game, but in contrast to ordinary soft-point bullets, which typically release uncontrolled energy causing high fragmentation (resulting in rapid loss of energy), the RWS RAP-X bullet is engineered to deliver controlled energy transfer and remain mass stable. This allows the RWS RAP-X bullet to reliably penetrate heavy bone and keep on going to deliver superb penetration and a high probability of an exit hole.

RWS employs a special manufacturing process called “Power Bonding” to unite the lead core with a jacket made of Tombak (an alloy of copper and zinc). For those longer shots at 300 yards, velocity is an impressive 2,309 fps and the energy level remains at a bone crushing 2,178 ft./lbs.
