Lake Ontario, Salmon River, Oak Orchard, Oswego River, Oneida Lake, Niagara River, Fishing Report 8/31/08
Finally the big push is here. From Oswego to Henderson the words you here on the radio are; Fish On!!
We are taking most of our in50 to 80 feet of water. We are finding the fish down 30 to55 feet. Troll 1.8 to 2.2 and runA variety of baits ... flies, spoons and j-plugs. E-Chip & Spin Doctor attractors with the hammer, green glow, hypnotist, and big fin Atomik flies.
Brown trout continue to be active in the early morning, with Raider and dreamweaver spoons catching most of the fish.
September is right around the corner and there are a few salmon making their way up the river each day. It won't be long before the river is choked with fresh run salmon, so now is a good time to prepare all your tackle so you are ready to go when the fish show up.
