Lake Ontario, Salmon and Oswego River Fishing Report 5/21/07
OK, Still no luck with pictures. I will be getting with my web guru on Tuesday and photos will be up soon.
The brown trout fishing out of Oswego right now is on fire. It just keeps getting better! The same simple program is working. Smithwicks off the boards and Raider and Dreamweaver spoons off the downriggers. Fish 5 to 50 feet of water and look for the bait. The wind blew on Sunday and really threw a wrench into things, but otherwise it is looking good out there.
The walleye fishing on Oneida Lake and Sandy Pond is starting to produce good catches. Fish small stickbaits like Jr Thundersticks or the hologram Rapalas in size 5, 7,& 9. The best colors will be Black & Silver, Blue & Silver and orange and gold. Also try a dark colored jig tipped with a nightcrawler. Oswego Walleye fishing has been spotty at best.
Don't forget about our photo contest in each issue of Lake Ontario Outdoors. Send them to Troy@lakeontariooutdoors.com.
I have May 29, 30 31 as well as days in June & July
