Today is pretty much a bust due to strong winds. but when the bite is on, good catches of king salmon, with many pushing the 18 pound mark are being found in 70 to 120 feet of water fromMexico Bay, west to the college. Seems like any spoons in green, green glow or black & silver will work

The browns are tight to the shore in 5 to 15 feet of water and have been scattered from Mexico Bay all the way to west nine mile creek. Fish black and silver smithwicks off the planer boards and dreamweaver spoons in black and silver off the riggers, down 3 to 5 feet and back 60 to 100 feet.

If you are looking for inland trout, try the upper and lower salmon river reservoirs. Fish small spinners and worms and try to get on the water early as the bite slows when the sun gets high. The local streams were fishing good but they will be flooded out for several more days.

The Oswego river walleye fishing is slow, but they can still be found around the light house and the inside cut. Rapalas in size 18 have been the hot bait, look for fire tiger, chartreuse and orange/ gold to take fish this weekend

Oneida Lake walleye fishing has been slow on the western end, but good on the eastern end. Worms, spinners and small rapalas are taking most of the fish. The best area has been near Sylvan Beach and the canal in 20 to 30 FOW.

Now is the time to schedule a lake charter. The fishing is excellent and area charter captains are available for Spring and Summer lake charters. Tak the kids fishing, it will be a quality experience that they will not forget.
